To put it simply, the 34-year-old Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo company performs en pointe, in drag. But despite goofy, faux-Russian stage names like "Katerina Bychkova," the group's common bond is a genuine and abiding love of legendary ballerinas — and they honor tradition by performing most of the choreography "straight." The classical ballet repertoire is as beautiful as it is demanding, and none of these queens give themselves a free pass for the more difficult material — they do it all, and they do it well. All proceeds benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.
