More Flavor: Benefit Benefit for the Shape Shoppe feat. Bird Names

From LA's the Smell to New York's ABC No Rio, indie obsessives tend to use some rather misty-eyed, utopian language when it comes to describing their hallowed DIY performance spaces. Superlatives aside, the Shape Shoppe is just the kind of grassroots venue/recording studio that Chicago (especially the South Loop) can always use more of. And although tonight's full benefit lineup is still TBA, there are few things better than Bird Names' lowest-fi avant-pop. Past Shoppe shows have included local faves like Aleks and the Drummer and Mahjongg as well as a memorable synth-spazz leg of the Mauled by Tigers festival.
