Art Drawn by Wesley Willis

Was the late Wesley Willis secretly a Renaissance man? With magical musical hits like "Rock 'n Roll McDonalds" and "Smoke Crack Rocks," you would think he was a one-trick pony, but Willis, a diagnosed schizophrenic, had a lesser-known talent: drawing. Surprisingly, his art is nothing like his music — it's crisp and transparent. Staying true to his Chicago roots, Willis sketched buses, trains, and buildings using pen, ink, and marker on whatever medium was available — whether paper to cardboard. Using sharp lines and an array of bright colors, Willis' work is a glimpse into his disjointed urban life.
