Music: Hip-Hop Wyclef Jean

Since cofounding seminal hip-hop group the Fugees back in the '90s, Wyclef Jean has kept busy with solo projects, like 1997's landmark indie-rock-meets-gangster-rap album The Carnival, and lending his producing talents to every style of artist in the biz. His newest release, Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant, once again sees his unmistakable and often political mix of Haitian folk music, hip-hop, acoustic rock, and jazz. While many musicians streamline their sound as their careers go on, Wyclef has only expanded his musical range.
