Art James Jankowiak: Southside Spiritual

With extraordinary detail and an intensely vibrant palette, James "Casper" Jankowiak's new work channels the cycle of random patterns that occurs throughout our lives. The works, reminiscent of abstract street art, evolve from one canvas to another; Blue Funnel's brilliant blue background sprouts colorful twin ovals, which explode into an array of oblong shapes in gum-ball tones in the show's titular Southside Spiritual piece. In their collective entirety, Jankowiak's refined paintings communicate an experience halfway between spiritual calm and pop whimsy.
