Art: Photography Border Film Project
-
- Border Film Project
Despite continuous media coverage on the inflammatory issue of border security, the US-Mexico divide still lacks effective federal oversight. That means that, for all the discussion and political grandstanding, it remains a free-for-all of vigilante citizens, illegal immigrants, and the occasional sympathetic volunteer. The three founders of Border Film Project reveal the human faces behind the crisis by providing disposable cameras to undocumented migrants and self-proclaimed border patrol (aka the Minutemen). These amateur photographers provide poignant views of how the immigration problem impacts all involved, legal resident and alien alike.
Note: There is an opening reception on Thur Jan 31 (5-8pm).
