More Flavor: Discussion Ira Glass: This American Life

When Chicago Public Radio's This American Life and indie-film pioneers Killer Films join forces, the payoff is a Showtime network production classic, five years in the making. Host Ira Glass now regularly expands his weekly radio show into an appropriately incisive TV program, compiling heartfelt, previously unheard tales of human trials and tribulations. While longtime fans of TAL on the radio wondered how its in-depth narratives and intimate feel would translate to the small screen, fears of "going Hollywood" have been quelled by an earnest-yet-elegant approach to visual storytelling and subtle, experimental cinematography. Glass speaks tonight, toting a new DVD featuring some of the show's best stories.
