For abortion-services provider Dr. Susan Wicklund, the shame and silence that attends one of the most common operations in the US — more than a third of American women will have one by age 45 — has hurt the pro-choice movement even more than the most despicable pro-life campaigns. Tonight, Wicklund discusses her memoir, This Common Secret: My Journey as an Abortion Doctor, which traces her work in the contentious field, and a Chicago Abortion Fund representative details the organization's services for low-income women.
