Film Love Unto Death (1984)

If the title isn't enough to clue you in, let there be no doubt: Love Unto Death is a bleak film. Young lovers Elisabeth (Sabine Azéma) and Simon (Pierre Arditi) have been together for only a few months when Simon dies. And then comes back to life. A minute later. He seems to be A-OK following his brush with eternal rest, but the event causes the couple to struggle with the possibility of an unexpected and early end to their love. Many portions of the film are devoid of dialogue; director Alain Resnais hired composer Hans Werner to relay the couple's emotions via the original score.
