Ever wonder how all the cool kids always know about those hidden apartment galleries and obscure nonprofit exhibition spaces? Here's their secret: they probably have a copy of Phonebook, an alternative gallery guide published by ThreeWalls and Green Lantern Press. Following the success of the inaugural 2007/08 installment, the 2008/09 edition has 90 new listings in the US and Canada, and includes reflective essays that give voice to art scenes from Knoxville to St. Louis to Portland. The launch is held in conjunction with the ThreeWallsSALON event Enablers and Platformists, an open discussion about fostering active participation in creative projects.
