Of the dozen-odd postmodern choreographers to come out of the "Judson Church" movement, none has had as much lasting impact as Trisha Brown. Her enormous body of work has helped set the course of dance history, allowing a complete break from social traditions and opening movement to direct conversation with the avant-garde. This thoughtfully curated four-part program — including pieces dating from 1971 to 2003 — reflects the near-obsessive deliberateness of Brown's dances. It also effectively demonstrates her range, from the cerebral minimalism of Accumulation to the organized wildness of Foray Forêt.
