Her enormous body of work has helped set the course of dance history, allowing a complete break from social traditions and opening movement to direct conversation with the avant-garde. This thoughtfully curated four-part program — including pieces dating from 1971 to 2003 — reflects the near-obsessive deliberateness of Brown's dances. It also effectively demonstrates her range, from the cerebral minimalism of Accumulation to the organized wildness of Foray Forêt.
