Athens, Georgia's Of Montreal have evolved a unique and eclectic musical style that might best be termed "indie glam." Since 2004's Satanic Panic in the Attic, Kevin Barnes and his crew have integrated more elements of funk and disco, while retaining pop melodies and eschewing traditional structures. Barnes has even taken on a Bowie-esque alter-ego qua Ziggy Stardust named Georgie Fruit. He cross-dresses while playing the role, describing Georgie as a black she-male in his 50s who's been to prison a couple of times. It remains unclear whether it was Barnes or Fruit who played half a set in the buff in Vegas last year.
