Music: Experimental Yeasayer w/ Chairlift

Brooklyn's Yeasayer have lived up to the hype that surrounded their first single, the apocalyptic "2080." The quartet's debut album, All Hour Cymbals, is a record that seems bent on capturing the most transcendent pop moments of Paul Simon's Graceland, rife with vocal harmonies, handclaps, and polyrhythms. Of course, its brand of new tribalism is a simulacrum of world music that could only exist now, and while it nods to influences as diverse as the Talking Heads and Sacred Harp singing, Yeasayer's music fits comfortably alongside contemporaries TV on the Radio and Arcade Fire.
