Halloween Lupe Fiasco

Chicago's own Lupe Fiasco returns tonight with his manicured, brainy hip-hop. He first came on the mainstream scene in 2006 with his album Food and Liquor, with everyone, including Jay-Z, pegging him as the next great hip-hop act. Audiences often saw him as a Kanye West prodigy, thanks to their frequent collaborations and a similar sound, but Fiasco's music stands on its own, boasting a laid-back production style and lyrics with a heavy pop influence. It's a nice break from thug posturing, and it's all Windy City grown.
