As part of Columbia College Chicago's two-month celebration of Beat culture, the Museum of Contemporary Photography screens the 30-minute, black-and-white film that embodies a generation of spontaneous yet carefully crafted art. Based on the third act of Jack Kerouac's never-performed play Beat Generation, this iconic production — directed by renowned artists Robert Frank and Alfred Leslie, narrated by Kerouac, and scored by David Amram — stars characters from all walks of Beat life. Pull My Daisy, a poem by Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and Neal Cassady, gives the film its name.
