Athenaeum Theatre says…

The singular H.P. Lovecraft casts a substantial shadow over modern horror fiction, and although his grandiloquent tales of "cosmic terror" aren't for everyone, he also counts acclaimed authors such as Michel Houellebecq and Joyce Carol Oates among his many admirers. Now WildClaw Theatre enthusiastically brings one of Lovecraft's central stories, The Dreams in the Witch House, to the stage — bloody deaths, strange creatures, and all. Houellebecq writes, "Lovecraft's body of work can be compared to a gigantic dream machine," and as it roars to life on stage, the audience should prepare for a bizarre, jolting ride. However, Lovecraft's "phantasies" offer hints of amusement, given the wild leaps that characterize the author's baroque mythology.
