DanceWorks Chicago: Dance Flight

It's probably not a stretch to assume you suffer from urban ADD, and cope by double- and triple-booking your evenings. For those who can't commit to a full-length performance between dinner with friends and music at Metro, DanceWorks Chicago thoughtfully offers a series that lets you choose between two 45-minute microconcerts. At 6pm, the curtain goes up on a liquid and complex trio by Alex Ketley and a pair of Robert Battle's signature dances of visual percussion; the 7pm show includes the braided partnering of Edgar Zendejas' Sada as well as half of Twyla Tharp's The One Hundreds. A seminal Tharp piece from 1970, Hundreds is brief and modular in the spirit of the evening: Its 100 dances are performed in 11 seconds each — the more people there are onstage, the shorter it lasts.

Note:

Ticketholders for the 6pm show may attend the 7pm show for half off.
