Foodies have always known that locally-grown, seasonal ingredients are fresher, tastier, and more nutritious. But facing an economic crisis and climate change, the movement appears increasingly practical: it reduces carbon footprints, supports regional economies and family farms, and contributes to a healthy local ecosystem.
