The Nightingale says…

You don't have to be a psychic to channel the queer body politic. Curators Latham Zearfoss and Ethan White use the moving image as a phenomenological link to other queer worlds, selecting artists whose work investigates topics such as the AIDS crisis, contemporary trans bodies, the nuclear-family structure, and cultural standards of desirability. This screening of experimental film and video evokes an eerie limbo between crisis and celebration, particularly in Shana Moulton's Whispering Pines #7 (2006), in which her awkward character Cynthia — whose montaged face echoes a Hannah Höch collage — mourns her passage into "womanhood."
