Proposing himself as a kind of Tim Gunn for the queer performance-art set, Tim Miller took a break from his life as a flamboyant demagogue to mentor three young Chicago artists in a program sponsored by Link's Hall. He's ideally suited for the role: Even if his disciples don't choose to emulate his aggressively frenetic style, they can (and should) borrow generously from the humor, candor, and progressive politics at the core of his freewheeling monologues. Awilda Rodriguez Lora, Sentell Harper, and Rebecca Kling worked with Miller for four months, culminating in these three solo performances. The evening also includes an excerpt of Miller's most recent work-in-progress.
