Ann Arbor's Afrobeat juggernauts NOMO garner indie cred from their longstanding affiliations with fellow Michiganders Saturday Looks Good to Me and His Name Is Alive. (NOMO members powered HNIA's recent, well-received tribute to avant-garde sax man Marion Brown.) But the nine-member NOMO know groove-heavy jams best, and their live shows kill.
