A unique collaboration between the Hyde Park gallery DOVA Temporary and Dr Wax, a used record store (and the hip-hop, jazz, and soul authority of the South Side), this show includes music and artwork by Cristian Andersen, the bomb squad, Joseph Grigely, and Sun Ra, alongside record covers and listening stations from the Dr Wax collection. The show's title, Dr Wax captures the big and small machines for the enjoyment of the people, alludes to the artistic tactic of selecting material from popular culture and repurposing it in order to reveal society's value systems.
