Go on, saddle up the pony. Your bike misses you, it's not that cold out, and you've been loafing on your couch for days watching Bravo. The Chicago Cycling Club claims not to know how its annual Bagel Ride began, but we agree that it's an inspired holiday tradition, even without a proper founding myth. Just suit up in your new winter duds and join the casual 12-mile "social ride," which ends with a celebratory brunch at Lakeview's Jewish deli the Bagel Restaurant. Like the postal service, the ride won't stop for snow — but it might be shortened if the weather's looking mean.
