With their landmark album Black Monk Time, the Monks created a unique document of the pre-Woodstock '60s, made up of Beatlemaniac frenzy and wartime anxiety in equal measure. But given that the band was based in Germany (they were former GIs), and never released a record or played a concert outside of Europe, it's no surprise that it's taken 40 years to claim a place among punk's prophets. The Transatlantic Feedback chronicles the band's career and continuing influence through interviews with all five original Monks. Filmed in the US and Germany between 1997 and 2002, it also includes appearances by Jon Spencer, member of Faust and Throbbing Gristle.
