If the winter doldrums have got you down, the Music Box's weeklong run of West Side Story is sure to get you feeling pretty, witty, and gay (well, until the film's tragic, tear-jerking end). The Oscar-winning smash musical follows the travails of two rival street gangs — the Puerto Rican Sharks and the American Jets — and a pair of star-crossed lovers (Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer) caught up in the toe-tapping chaos. The Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim score brims with pop-perfect gems like "America," "Tonight," and "I Feel Pretty," while the choreography (straight from the original Broadway production) shines with dazzling street fights and dance numbers — which are often one and the same.
