After recording smash hit "The Letter" with the Box Tops at just 16, Alex Chilton went on to front influential Memphis power-pop group Big Star. Tonight, a dozen bands assemble to celebrate the musical legacy of a man whose winsome charm remains an inspiration for songsmiths with something to say.
