As kids, the members of Denton, Texas-based the Wax Museums clearly binged on Ramones records. As such, the band's classic take on punk would have been a hit at CBGB circa 1977. The music is fast, the songs are short, and the lyrics are witty and thoughtful. It's clear that these guys have something to say with song titles like "Trapped in the Mall" — a tune that sounds and feels like a 21st-century "I Wanna Be Sedated." Denton is well-represented on the bill tonight with openers the Teenage Cool Kids, whose talented vocalists and catchy tunes might just steal the show.
