Memphis garage-punk rocker Jay Reatard has come a long way since recording lo-fi songs alone in his bedroom at the age of 15. Granted, he still records lo-fi songs in his bedroom. But in the past ten years, he's been on over 30 tours, traveled the world, and performed with the Reatards, Lost Sounds, and Angry Angles, building a reputation for short-but-satisfying sets heavy on head-thrashing and audience participation. Still reeling from the success of his first solo album, 2006's Blood Visions, and newly signed as a solo artist to Matador, the consummate punk continues his itchy-footed touring with a NYE visit to the Empty Bottle.
