Following our president-elect's lead, we're on track to become mindful world citizens again — there's no better place to start than close to home. This week, that starting point could be your local movie theater, as Facets serves up a rich bouillibaisse of French films from a new generation of creative voices. Offerings include a comedic battle of the sexes, a breathless run with wild wolves in the Alps, tense thrillers about urban crooks and the mysteries of art, and two award-winning films that look unflinchingly at life in Paris's embattled banlieues, among many others. Several of the filmmakers join the fray at post-screening discussions throughout the week.
