Millennium Park says…

The city seems to think it can lift our cold, broken spirits by taking the soul-crushing Chicago winter and adding the word "festival." (The city would be right, actually.) Behind Millennium Park's Cloud Gate sculpture, Canadian artist Gordon Halloran is installing a 12-foot-tall, 95-foot-wide, wildly colored ice wall. The side facing Michigan Avenue mirrors the city skyline, while the other side's chiseled edges call to mind a psychedelic glacier. Over the course of the month, the ice will change not only with the weather, but also by the artist's hand.
