Inspired by the subtle subversion of Woody Guthrie's populist anthem, This Land Is Your Land is a thoughtful investigation of US national identity, politics, and stereotypes through the mediums of photography and video. The group exhibition features work by seven artists, only two of whom are American — providing a refreshing degree of objectivity regarding our peculiarities and mores. Among the highlights is Greg Stimac's video Peeling Out, which explores our national obsession with tire-shredding, gas-guzzling speed machines; in the piece, American landscapes are tellingly obscured by clouds of white smoke from the metal beasts' exhaust pipes.
