Chicago artist Peter Hoffman drew inspiration for his newest art from… an Internet questionnaire. For his exhibit Post-Paintings, Hoffman created his pieces by interpreting selected participants' replies to questions he posted online; subjects receive a finished work in return for their efforts. As for the paintings themselves: the idyllic landscape PP.042 (Tree in Orange) is a prime example of Hoffman's propensity for vivid color, creamy backgrounds, and layered-under painting, while PP.049 (Married Woman on Cloud) references Greek sculpture. The exhibit is the inaugural hanging of these works as a sequence.
