The Sex Workers' Art Show is to the sex industry what the Vagina Monologues is to lady-parts — at least when it comes to raising awareness while causing a ruckus. (Last year, the travelling show was banned from the College of William and Mary.) But don't be fooled by the humble title: this is no gallery exhibition. The cabaret-style performance piece showcases wild vignettes with plenty of costumes and provocative toys. It's a grab bag of emotion and opinion, with each performer offering his or her take on their role in the much-maligned industry.
