The Hideout says…

As globalization continues its steady march, economists, human-rights activists, and political leaders are growing skeptical. Sure, developing countries enjoy more jobs, technological advances, and economic prosperity, while the US enjoys two-dollar tube socks and cheap offshore labor. But sometimes it's hard to tell whether unfettered free trade and crumbling economic borders are forces of good, or just sophisticated modes of exploitation. Moderated by local attorney (and Bon Mots guitarist) Eric Chial, tonight's G.O.A.t. debate brings together DePaul economics professor Animesh Ghoshal and Tribune business correspondent David Greising to consider the costs and benefits of the new world order.
