The history of tech-savvy artists reaches back to the '50s, when computers were massive machines that took up entire laboratories. Now the world is full of graphic designers, video-game engineers, and advertisers, all using the latest MacBook. Imaging by Numbers curator Debora Wood leads a tour today through the exhibition, which surveys artists that have utilized computer programming and other electronic techniques to create their work. George Ness and Roman Verostko attach pens and paintbrushes to computer plotter printers, while former NASA artist-in-residence David Em creates virtual realities bursting with patterns in his Transjovian Pipeline.
