Maybe it's the Drag City association, but Six Organs of Admittance seem to play Chicago more frequently than most local bands. Still, that's no reason not to go see Ben Chasny's singular take on spacey, noisy avant-folk one more time. His complex fretwork, as always, remains stupefying; over their last few records, though, Chasny's band has incorporated his guitar heroics better than ever, building cascading eddies of psychedelic drone and shamanic chants. Chasny's work with Comets on Fire is highly recommended, but this is where he sounds truly otherworldly.
