While UK indie roots-rocker Lightspeed Champion (aka singer/guitarist Devonte Hynes) rose to semi-prominence with Test Icicles, little trace of that band's ADD-riddled, dance-punk chaos remains. His self-titled, solo debut boasts similarly full-bodied, densely layered arrangements, but uses members of Bright Eyes, the Faint, and Tilly and the Wall to melodically tip the scales into folk-rock territory.
