Saxophonist Donny McCaslin is one of New York's leading jazz musicians, having worked with experimental collective Lan Xang, the Dave Douglas Quintet, and the Maria Schneider Orchestra. Known for his willingness to add unconventional Latin flourishes to his compositions, the adventurous Grammy-nominated musician, composer, and bandleader's free-jazz noodlings are both disorienting and weirdly trance-inducing. This afternoon, McCaslin visits the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the free New Millennium New Music Series.
