Music: Rock/Pop Black Moth Super Rainbow w/ Brilliant Pebbles and Magical, Beautiful

Black Moth Super Rainbow make space-age bachelor-pad music envisioned through kaleidoscope eyes. Like Broadcast and Air, they blanket their songs with vintage analog keys — but as the name suggests, the quintet is more interested in psychedelic swirls than cocktail cool. Dandelion Gum, last year's high-water mark, feels like the soundtrack to Planet Earth with all the colors inverted — organic and somewhat familiar, but awash in a shiny, day-glo surrealism. For a sample, check out the blissful "Sun Lips," which twists Free Design-style sunshine pop into a haze of vocodered coos and oscillating melodies.
