Local indie imprint Featherproof Books commandeers the Hideout tonight to celebrate the release of Susannah Felts' debut novel, the charmingly titled This Will Go Down on Your Permanent Record. Felts is a Birmingham-to-Chicago transplant and an esteemed member of the THE2NDHAND family. Her book, whose title is taken from an exemplary Violent Femmes song, is a sweet coming-of-age story set in 1989, about the tumultuous friendship between two teenage girls. Trouble author Patrick Somerville, J. Adams Oaks, and Heroines scribe Eileen Favorite also read, and acoustic folk duo the Pawners' Society and winsome ukulele-based outfit Judson Caliborne while away the in-between time.
