The subject of race seems to be on many minds of late, but in the art world, the topic is positively hot. This large group show depicts a shift in the conversation about so-called "black art." Simple inclusion is no longer the goal; now the emphasis is on pushing to make race a social and political non-factor. Featuring a racially mixed group of artists, including William Pope.L, Andres Serrano, Mickalene Thomas, and local Jason Lazarus, the exhibition promises to speak to identity issues that are as newsworthy as Barack Obama's candidacy.
