Art Justin Cooper: Thread

Justin Cooper's installation is a combination of opposites: small-scale material creates large-scale sculpture, and conceptual performance art runs up against personal-space issues. Using tangles of humble thread, Cooper recreates the changing moods of a relationship, starting with intimacy and transitioning into that feeling you get when you've been a little too close for a little too long. Cooper's approach is abstract — you might not really "get" the love theme, even if you see it in person — but he excels at putting on a thought-provoking show.
