For Strange Habit, curator Luke Batten selected artists — Emily Kennerk, Curtis Mann, Alice Shaw, Shane Huffman, and Steven Husby — who incorporate unintentional elements into a diverse range of works. Husby's four pieces emphasize order, color, and surface, while Huffman's works use systems to examine space and time. An accompanying booklet features an interview that Batten, Husby, and Huffman conducted with a University of Chicago physics graduate student, relating that field to the act of art-making.
