Music: Rock/Pop When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth w/ Cave and Head of Skulls

When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth once described their spastic sound as "digging through your trash and finding leftovers." The Austin-based septet utilizes two drummers, two guitarists, two "singers," and a bassist in its dumpster-diving pursuit of cacaphony. Since 2006's Snacks EP, it has incorporated gleefully incongruent bits (noise-pop, post-punk, hardcore) into some of the most chaotic and just-plain-hilarious music this side of Butthole Surfers. Tonight, the group performs tracks off its forthcoming full-length debut, NOT NOIICE, after fellow double-drum-kit enthusiasts Cave and post-punk outfit Head of Skulls start things off.
