And so it goes: another apartment gallery space is about to close its doors. The shuttering curse has infiltrated the California Occidental Art Museum (aka COMA) as it puts on its 18th — and final — exhibition. Many, many locals have shown here, including space co-founders EC Brown and Annika Seitz. In COMA 18, neighboring gallerists Caleb Lyons and Kathryn Scanlan of Old Gold Chicago show work alongside COMA regular Stacie Johnson, sculptor extraordinaire Loo Bain, and film artist/pie baker Catie Olsen. Brown and Seitz have decided to end on a high note, while attendance is still strong, so try and make it to this final event for a living room full of fun art and lively conversation.
