In the springtime, most of us use our money to catch up on overdue heating bills, but New York-based artist Mark Wagner uses his bucks as inspiration for his work. Employing cash as a jump-off for critiques of capitalism, his collages spur viewers to examine the almighty dollar's power and significance. The artist also explores all the hidden designs and crazy images adorning our currency, looking at physical money's relation to art. While hopefully no recession will add to their poignancy, Wagner's assembled compilations offer a new perspective on the overlooked beauty of the dollar bill.
