Barbara Geiger looks back at historical, Chicago-affiliated landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted, Jens Jensen, and O.C. Simonds to find a link between their designs and today's emphasis on sustainability. Olmsted's name might be familiar to Devil in the White City fans, but Geiger pulls him into the spotlight for different purposes.
