More Flavor: Benefit Neighborhood Writing Alliance and Journal of Ordinary Thought Annual Benefit

The Neighborhood Writing Alliance's mantra reads, "Every person is a philosopher." Since 1996, the group has been urging Chicagoland's grown-ups to to pick up a pen and get friendly with creative writing. Tonight, the nonprofit hosts a benefit with readings by Pulitzer Prize-winner Margo Jefferson, as well as Brad Norris and Kamilyn Baskerville, two writers from the group's quarterly Journal of Ordinary Thought. Money raised at the fete, which includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, supports future writing programs.
