Austin's Ghostland Observatory have been gathering steam since 2005, when Aaron Behrens first demonstrated his commanding charisma and impressive vocal range on their debut, delete.delete.i.eat.meat. Behrens and synth alchemist/drummer Thomas Ross Turner have been cranking ever since, systematically defying genre classification and flouting conventions through their entertaining, puzzling repertoire. Robotique Majestique, their latest record, is packed with glam rock-inspired discordant disco and dance-punk tendencies, anchored by catchy beats and Behrens' distinctive wails, shrieks, and grunts.
