Music: Rock/Pop Cluster w/ Chandeliers and Disappears

While bands like Can and Kraftwerk became the hipper touchstones for post-punks and disciples of experimental dance music, German electronic duo Cluster drew the more convincing line between Krautrock's motorik pulse and its cosmic, ambient side. In 1974, Eno was still in his "song" phase and the Dusseldorf showroom dummies were just starting their trip down the Autobahn, but Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius were already steering the space-rock ship away from Floydian ponderousness into subtler waters. They went on hiatus almost ten years ago, and shortly thereafter, acts like the Orb and Mouse on Mars followed Cluster's lead. They're not exactly road dogs, so clear your calendar now.
